Privacy Policy
The short version: this site has no accounts, keeps no database of your references, and runs no tracking or advertising scripts on its tool pages.
Your reference list stays in your browser
The list of references you build is stored only in your own browser’s local storage, on your own device. It is not sent to us, not stored on our servers, and it has no expiry set by us — clearing your browser storage clears the list. If you use the “link to this list” feature, the list travels encoded inside the link itself (in the part of the address after the # symbol, which browsers do not send to servers), so anyone you share the link with can see that list — share it only with people you mean to.
Autocite lookups
When you paste an identifier or address into the lookup box, that lookup has to talk to the service that holds the record:
- A DOI is sent to Crossref (api.crossref.org) to resolve the record.
- An ISBN is sent to Open Library and, if needed, Google Books.
- A title search is sent to Crossref / Open Library as a search query.
- A web address (URL) is fetched by our own metadata fetcher (a single Cloudflare Pages Function at /api/fetch-meta), which requests the page you typed on the server side and returns its public page metadata — title, author, site name and dates — because browsers cannot fetch other sites directly. The fetcher keeps no copy of the page or of your request beyond standard hosting logs.
Nothing else about you is attached to those lookups. If you prefer not to use lookup at all, the manual form works fully on its own and sends nothing anywhere.
No tracking on tool pages
The generator and guide pages load no analytics, advertising or social-media tracking scripts, and set no marketing cookies. The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes standard request data (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) in its server and security logs to deliver and protect the site; that is ordinary hosting, not tracking for advertising.
If you contact us
If you reach RozContent through the routes on the Contact page, your message is used only to reply to you. We do not sell contact details or share them for marketing.
Changes
If this policy ever changes — for example, if advertising is introduced on guide pages in future — the change will be published on this page before it takes effect. The promise that the tool pages stay free of ads and trackers does not change.
